How far out are you during the approach?

approximately how far out are you from the airport when the flight attendant says as we begin our approach please secure your seat belt and make sure tray tables are in the upright position?

    It depends on the type of plane, the airport and the pilot. There id no set answer. But I have noticed 20 minutes is pretty common.

    Usually a few minutes, like within 5-10 minutes of landing

    I'd say more like 15-20 minutes, but it may depend on the flight path etc.
