Religious parents, how would you feel if your child was an atheist?

I've grown up in a Christian family, I asked my dad how he'd feel if I were an atheist. (Which I'm not) He said he wouldn't care, because he can't force religion on me and he wouldn't be able to change my mind. I'm curious about how you other parents would feel.

Update:

Of course I would want my child in heaven with me, and my friends, family, etc. But you can't just try to force religion onto those who don't believe. What bugs me about most Christians is that they can be so judgmental, and most will judge and hate on atheists and agnostics. You're supposed to love your neighbor, not hate. And only God is allowed to judge.

i think it differs to some religion and I feel that sometimes it depends on the environment around the child's life. Some feel they just need education and a life to live life and some live practicing their religons. Im muslim and I do have my religous beliefs and what i believe is what i want my children to grow up practicing. Based on my opinion doe

He should care. If your child is getting in with the wrong crowd, you better talk some sense in him. If your kid is hell bound you also better do something. Dont you want your kid in heaven with you?
