Can a car battery die completely?

I have had to boost my battery about 5 times in the last 2 months. I should have got a new one but didn't. Now my car won't start even when boosted. I'm wondering if it could be just the battery or is there more damage now ?

  • that can happen . even with the key off, a few systems still use power form it, such as the computer to retain memory and the stereo.
