When did it become OK for people to be just plain rude? If a person is wheelchair bound / how could anyone with a heart deny her a ramp?

No one deserves free flights the rest of their life because they are disabled and since she is disabled she should know that she needs to discuss this with the airline when she makes her reservations. Any reasonable, thinking person who has special needs should know that they need extra time and to discuss special needs with airlines, hotels, etc.

Sorry but I am not sympathetic. It isn't the airlines fault that she doesn't use the common sense that God gave her. Sounds like a person who thinks that just because she is disabled, the world owes her and everyone else must wait while she is being accomodated. It doesn't work that way. She needs to take on some responsbility herself and if she is too stupid to have figured this out, then she needs a legal guardian who will do it for her.

Hi I'm also in a wheelchair (I fell over once). If people are taking the piss I just get up and walk around so they can't tell I'm in a wheelchair. Do that.

This shows a serious example of putting dollars before people.Sad,sad statement of our business practices. She deserves free flights for the rest of her flights and she needs to be told of the requirement to call the airline a day ahead to have a ramp up and to get there early enough to avoid a delay for her special needs.Bottom line is that she was humiliated for making a mistake.Well, that is human and does not excuse poor behavior on the part of the airline. No one should be punished by humiliation. It tears us all down.Remember this with parenting.
