Why shame?

Some things Biblical nag at me but I don't know why until a key opens the thought. When Adam and Eve saw they were naked, they were ashamed and got clothes. What were they ashamed of? Nudity? That's all they ever knew. All the animals that provided company and comfort were also unclothed. Where did this 'shame' come from? Why cover what was never covered? Where did they get the aide of specifically which anatomical parts to cover up? OR, was the 'shame' instead directed at realizing the committed act of disobedience regarding the tree of life munch break?

They were ashamed of disobeying God (eating from the tree of knowledge when they were specifically told not to) and foolishly tried to hide themselves from him in shame by covering themselves. The Bible doesn't teach that nudity is wrong. Yes, what you can do when you're naked or clothed can be, but there's nothing wrong with simply being as God made you.

    Source(s): Christian social nudist.

Granted, but what made them feel this new concept of being 'naked'? If nudity was the natural way they were both created and how they lived their lives in Eden, I just don't get the transition to puritanism and self censorship. There are nudist colonies filled with healthy people who feel that the human body is nothing to be ashamed of...even some that may want to rethink their views there, sad to say.

They didn't eat fruit from the Tree Of Life but rather the Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good Ad Evil. Once you are aware of something you are accountable for that knowledge. God had Angels guard the Tree Of Life to prevent Adam and Eve from eating the fruit that would have allowed them to live eternally. That is also the reason the were expelled from the Garden of Eden.

they were innocent and didn`t know that they were naked until they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

so they hid when God called to them.

When God made them clothes and they put them on, they took their consequences.

but no where does it say they said they were sorry

That's why it is just a story, the pieces don't fit together like they should.

They wouldn't feel the need to clothe themselves if they didn't feel naked.
