Got a nail in my tire can the other driver pay for it?

Was driving down the road today in my truck and a guy did not have his tool box locked on the back of his truck anyways some nuts bolts screws basically everything that came out of the back of his truck hit my truck and the guy in the other lane I got his plate number as it happened took the photo on my cell phone I changed it and put the doughnut on but it really did a lot of damage could I report him to the motor vechical divison so they can get him to pay for a new tire

    You can report him.

    But to get him to pay for a new tyre is another thing. Just because a few screws came out of his tool box doesn't mean one of them went into your tyre. You'd have to prove it was one of his and not just a random one lying in the road

    Nope all you can do is go after the guy in small claims court. You will need to find out his address from the DMV using the license plate then have him served and go to court. Lot of work for probably $200 or less.

    Absolutely, after all it was his fault, that toolbox should have been closed! you should definitely go to the motor vehicle division so they can contact the guy that busted your tire.
