Wireless earbuds. How do they work?

Conventional wireless earphones use a transmitter that you plug into the headphone jack of a radio or TV. On the computer you have more choices. Bluetooth is the most popular. Cellphones and tablets (I think) have bluetooth built in so you only have to buy the headphones and link them the way you do with a cellphone. If you use a computer that doesn't have built-in bluetooth you can get a bluetooth 'dongle' that works over USB. You plug the dongle into a USB port. You can the the dongle on Amazon or EBay super cheap.

As for what kind to get, I can't help you there. There are a wide range of Bluetooth headphones/earbuds, at a wide range of prices also!

Wireless ear buds use Bluetooth to connect - if you don't have a Bluetooth transmitter built into the computer, you'll need to get an adapter to get them to work properly.

I use a Bluetooth headset that I bought for my cell phone to listen to things on the computer that has Bluetooth - but that's more so that I can still hear what's going on in the room or house with the other ear.

If you want to get better sound for your music listening - try sound canceling head phones to block the noise from the area so that all you can hear is what the headset is feeding into your ears..

The only reason I am interested in wireless is because I want to be able to move around away from the computer. But I hear what you're saying about the crappy sound quality.

Why spend the extra money on wireless if your sitting right next to the computer? Wireless headphones get interference (hissing, cutting out), sound crappy and don't get very loud. Stick to wired.
