Can forcing yourself to cough hard result in chest discomfort?

    Yes, definitely. If you are forcing your lungs to (roughly) expel air it's going to begin to hurt. It's the same thing as not forcing yourself to cough and coughing.

    Yes! You can also get costochondritis so get yourself some cough medicine..
