Can colds leave mucus residue in your airways?
3 AnswersRespiratory Diseases6 years agoI'M REALLY SCARED, AM I GOING TO DIE? :(((?
Ten weeks ago, I was baking and I inhaled some cinnamon powder by accident, not too much from my memory. I coughed for 2-3 minutes, then ran straight to Google to see what it can cause. I do suffer from an anxiety disorder, yes. I read everywhere it causes fatal lung scarring and they were all talking about this Internet game called the cinnamon challenge?
I felt a mild chest pain on my right side for a few seconds when I freaked out. It eased but I continued to worry and it kept coming back. What I've noticed is that when I relax I have no chest pains but when I worry I get sharp chest pains. The pain can be aggravated by laughing or coughing etc. I feel a tenderness sometimes. I'm scared this is the cinnamon burning. If it was, would it not come and go? Sometimes my shoulder hurts to breathe too. Sometimes, it will feel like the pain is in my back too.
Another thing that's worrying me is when I cough hard enough I make a croupy barking noise, and sometimes a metallic taste. I'm scared this is the cinnamon lodged in my airway. I have however had a few colds the past couple of months. I don't have a cough, it's just when I do cough.
Look, I just fear dying of pulmonary fibrosis at a young age because of baking. I want to be healthy, I'm sure you lot do as well. Please understand me.
Is the chest pains caused by cinnamon or anxiety? Will I die? Is the cough to do with the colds? Coughing sometimes irritates my throat and affects my voice.
