40 weeks pregnant and have been having regular tightenings ?
Since Saturday I have been having these tightenings on an off for a few hours and they were about 20 mins apart then last night I had them and they were getting to about 15 mins apart but they haven't stopped this time since about 9.30 last night , a few woke me up in the night but managed to go back to sleep but was waking every hour or so , some were even about 10 mins apart but now today they are about 15 mins apart again , I also had a show on Sunday , could this be the start of labour ? I did speak to the midwife last night and she said it probley is the start but it could last for days but as it has lasted about 5 days already I am just wondering and confused

Some women do experience the onset of labor for a week or longer before they give birth, honey, so that is what you are experiencing, is your body getting ready for the baby to be born, since you are 40 weeks, it does sound like it could be any day now.☺☺☺
And because of what you are experiencing, that is why women go to the hospital because they think it is labor, and then they are told to go home, and just keep monitoring how they are doing and then if anything changes, then call the hospital.
I recommend that you keep an eye on how you are doing and how you are feeling, and just keep your midwife up to date on what is going on, at this point and time, it is important to always let her know everything and anything that is going on..........because it sounds like Mother Nature is getting the ball rolling.☺☺☺
