Cary Fukanaga has dropped out of remaking Stephen King's It, should Sam Raimi replace him?

Because of his background in Evil Dead and the fact Stephen King is an admirer of him and his partners, I believe he is far from being a suitable choice. What do you think though?

Some things don't move well from book to movie, and IT was one of them. The TV miniseries emphasized that the grown-up story took place over the space of a few days, and ended up with a bunch of grown ups beating up a giant spider from outer space.

I'm not really interested in seeing that again.

It's time to re-read the book. The book is better than any film adaptation could ever be.

  • he would be a competent director, but i wonder if his comedy leanings would affect the fear factor of the movie...

i say comedy because he always gets a laugh in his movies...love drag me to hell for example...

edit: the original IT ,although lower budget, was creepy as hell, and not funny..
