EFY Packing List Question?
This year, I'm going to the first edition of EFY in Nauvoo (next week). For those of you who don't know what EFY is, or are a non-Mormon, it is a 5-6 day youth camp for ages 14-18 where you go to the city you signed up for and do fun activities that relate to the theme while also bringing you closer to the spirit. I have been to EFY once before, this is my second year. For scripture study in the morning and for scriptures in general, would it be better to bring my quad or just use my phone? Last year I wasn't a huge fan of lugging around my scriptures all day, but if I don't bring them this year and just use my phone, I wouldn't want to look like I'm just texting? Did you ever bring your phone for scripture study and was it fine? Or is it better to lug scriptures around and risk the bag they give you breaking?
Also, for all of you non-Mormons out there, I would appreciate if you didn't make fun of my religion in this question. I'm looking for answers to what I post, and I don't want to flag an answer, so please be clean in language.

What To Bring
Scriptures, journal, and pen or pencil
Optional: Spending money — a small amount of spending money may be needed for incidentals or emergencies; inexpensive camera, materials for variety show costume, accompaniment, etc.; medications such as cough drops, aspirin, Ibuprofen.
What Not To Bring
We discourage the use of cell phones during any EFY activity. If you feel you cannot regulate the use of your phone, please leave it at home.
We strongly discourage participants from bringing iPods, stereos, video game systems, TVs, Game Boys, or any other extra items. We cannot guarantee the security of these items, and participants do not have much free time in which to use them. In–line skates, skateboards, and other athletic equipment are not allowed

I think it's ridiculous they expect you to bring your own scripture/books. They should have it at the place for people. Seems like it is very inconveinient for the campers. Any reputable organization provides educational material for free
Anyway, there are a lot of Catholics in that region of the country (I've been to Nauvoo before, but not because I'm Mormon, because I had a Catholic friend that lived near there). Maybe you will see one of our churches there. We are the only church started by Jesus Himself. . Good luck on your journey, may it lead you to the Truth.
