If adjusting numbers due to the increased precision of termostats is bad, why is adjusting for inflation in economics bad? Same principal!?

    Increased precision of termostats? What are you talking about? And why do you think adjusting for inflation in economics is bad? Haven't you ever seen a chart of something like income or oil prices that has been adjusted for inflation and given in "constant dollars"? That is a very common thing to do in economics.

    You also might want to check out the difference between principal and principle.

    Moderrn thermometers are not overall more precise, because they need recalibrating, a mercury thermometer made in the 1800's would be just as accurate now, as when it was first made.

    If stockmarket results were adjusted like climate temperatures are, someone would be going to prison.
