I'm buying a laptop from bestbuy, I have $300, I saw a A-8 model that was $330, they also had an open box for $296, would it be safe to get?

I am pretty sure even if they are open box, they check to make sure it is still safe to sell, and restore it to factory settings. I personally like to buy things new, so I would go with the new one. I would also advise you to save probably another $100 just to cover taxes and a protection plan if you want it.

Open box laptops are generally a gamble. Ask if they know the history of the laptop. If they say anything about it having a bad history, or if they don't know the history, I wouldn't risk it and save up the extra $30 for the brand new one.

If it still has an unlimited 1 year guarantee it is OK
