Absolutely all states should... BUT as per the Constitution this is a state issue and should be dealt with on a state to state basis. Welfare is set up to help people, not pay for someone's drug issues. I feel all welfare and government assistance should be monitored very closely. Again.. Government assistance is for HELPING those in need TEMPORARILY.. NOT for paying for someone's bad habits which was probably one of the main reasons they are on Government assistance in the first place.

A waste of money, since their own studies have proven that welfare recipients use drugs at a far lower rate than the average citizen. So they end up falsely accusing more people than they righteously catch.

And even if they "catch" some parent, the end result is that the junkie's children just go hungry because Mommy can't put down the pipe.

So what upside is there to such a policy?

All states should reject federal Democrat supervision of the welfare, or government assistance...If people are using government funds for drugs, they should only receive 'benefits' in Democrat voting states.

It costs far more to enforce than is worth while. The rate of drug use in the welfare population is less than 3%. Only 2.6% of applicants failed the test. Meanwhile it cost the states that enforce it a huge amount.

They did, but only for about 4 months. They no longer do. It was found unconstitutional by two federal courts and Florida decided not to appeal to the supreme court. It also cost more money than it saved.

I think that law in Florida was deemed unconstitutional by the court system and is not the law in Florida now. Other states can try such a tactic if they want, but Florida tried and failed to successfully defend that law.

Sure why not? If they be Drugging give them welfare for 6 months and help clean up their act. If they don't. Cut it off...

Yes. If they can afford the drugs then they do not need the money. If they are using the money to get the drugs then we should not be funding them. They will spend the money meant for their kids as well so getting them into foster care is saving them.

I think Florida politicians should be tested too. Afterall, they are receiving the taxpayers dime as well.

I don't think it is worthwhile overall.
