I'm fifteen and I first got anxiety at six due to abuse. I now have depression. You shouldn't force her because she might refuse to talk to the therapist. You should try to understand her and try to help and encourage her to go. Not force. You could make her feel worst. Let her go in her own time.

I was 15 when I started having issues with anxiety and depression. I hated going to my therapist. I think you shouldn't force her, but strongly encourage it and allow her to maybe do some online research of therapists in the area to see who she would like to meet with, so she feels like she has a say in what's happening. Hope everything works out for the best and much support to you and your daughter, I know how tough it is.

Right. I don't want to make her worse but I know how serious these conditions are. Her sister was hospitalized last winter for a suicide attempt. I wonder if the 15 year old thinks she's going to be like her sister?

It sounds like your doing all you can, is any other therapy available? It could be the therapy being offered perhaps needs to be changed? I know CBT is often used first, and for some it works - I found it totally pointless. Maybe a discussion with therapy to talk about other forms of therapy?
