What score should I apply to college with?
First try on BOTH tests, I got a 26 on my ACT and a 1820 on my SAT. Which score is better? I'm not sure how they compare.
I want to send the best score to each college, but I don't want to spend $30 on every potential school by sending both scores over.
Which score do you recommend if I was only going to send one? I plan on attending a 4 yr college. I don't want to go to a private university though, simply because I don't want to be in debt for eternity.

I'd say your SAT is slightly better than you ACT. Double check with each university. Some schools have a clear preference or require the ACT + writing if you choose to submit it.

One website I looked at says your SAT is a bit better than your ACT; another says it's equivalent:

Don't completely rule out private universities; if they have scholarships available they might not cost more than public.
