    Philosophy is more logical thinking. Philosophy is through conscious rational thinking. A western and modern philosophy, Marxism is based on logical examination on the flaws of capitalism to theorise communism as a solution. An eastern ancient philosophy, Confucianism uses moral reasoning to come up with ideas that encourage filial piety, gender roles and civility.

    On the other hand, religious spirituality is through artistic subconscious imagination. Hinduism, Yoga and Buddhism practise meditation to reach subconsciousness to achieve spirituality.

    But it is also a matter of definition of art. You can define art as the skill expression and interpretation; and almost everything in the world is art.

    Many philosophies are not logical, but are based on interpretation, like art. So philosophy is more artistic.

    Is philosophy more like logical thinking or artistic thought?

    ~~~ Yes!
    Philosophy pulls together all disparate means of Knowledge!
    That is one reason there are fewer and fewer real philosophers all the time.
    There might be a dozen in the world at the moment, but 2 or 3 geniuses, maybe...
    Less and less all the time, as 'thought' dies.
    Philosophy is 'original critical thought';
    Critical Thinking
    Bertrand Russell on Critical Thinking
    http://www.bu.edu/wcp/Papers/Educ/EducHare.htm
    As opposed to the 'scholastic';
    "..."philosophologists", a term coined by Robert Pirsig ("Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", "Lila") to denote people who study other people's philosophy but cannot do philosophy themselves. He also says that most people who consider themselves philosophers are actually philosophologists. The difference between a philosopher and a philosophologist is like the difference between an art and aesthetics; one does and the other studies what the other does and theorizes about it."
    Certainly not. Philosophy is neither more like logical or artistic thinking. Philosophers based their thinking on the field of reality, and reality is hard to understand, for what it points seem illogical for us.
    Take for example the following line shared to us by one great Philosopher: "I think, therefore i am". Sounds great and deep, and illogical as it may seem. Yet, it is a fact, the one reality in man, and can never be refuted by any self-enlightened being.
    Truthfully speaking, reality is beyond logic. That's one reason why reality is such a difficult subject to understand. Although reality is a way of life, to understand it requires one to go inwardly, and witness it through conscious awareness of one's true-self.
    Artistic thought upon which the structure of logic is imposed. Premises are generated by imagination and not logic; conclusions from those premises are generated by logic.
    Logic when done correctly aids in many respects. Awareness of self is a type of art and science, various emphases e.g. Schopenhauer, Plotinus.
    In my opinion philosophy is more like living a different life that makes you enjoy life more & I find it makes you look younger many many years down the road. Mike
