love whispers in the night
shadows moving in sight
rain drops beat on your head
its just a skunk under my shed.
cotton pillow on your face
just to be awoken again by loves sweet embrace
stagger again down the stairs
only to see a smelly skunks stare
back to the room I creep
wondering if i will hear my loves pleasant peep
love calls once more
this time i have left the shotgun by the door
with the soft grass between my toes
will this poem ever end who knows
