Gmc a good brand and good trucks?

I'm looking to buy a GMC Canyon or sierra

Are the gmc trucks good reliable long lasting trucks with proper maintenance as I want to stay domestic and not go toyota nissan eat but want something reliable and don't like dodge or ford and like the styling of the gmc trucks

    They're good trucks. Same as the Chevy trucks for the most part, only slight differences (trim mostly). I'm still moving up to 5 tons with a 77 Chevy. One rebuild on the original engine and a new crate engine a while ago - around 500k total miles. Upgraded some other things, like putting a 1-ton axle and 3/4-ton springs under the rear, but that's because I push the limits of what it was built for.

    I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 5.3 v8. It has 154000 miles and going strong . No major repairs just maintenance. Doesn't do bad on gas either,
