will a gtx 980 bottleneck a i5 5200u?

    Without a doubt, yes. You probably bought what you thought was a normal desktop system, but that system uses a processor that is usually found in mobile devices. I know Acer and HP sell those types of systems (and probably others as well) aimed at the budget/low cost/cheap market segment. Most standard desktop i3's will outperform the i5-5200u. Sorry for your luck.

    Well, first you have to figure out how to install that card on an ultrabook.

    An ultra low power CPU is not generally used on gaming machines.
