What breed of dog should get?
We are moving to Kodiak, AK and are looking for a dog that will keep up with our activity levels. We will want to take it hiking and running with us. We aren't first time pet owners, and I am willing to put time into training a dog. The dog will be left at home during the day while we are gone for work/school. We have a English Lab, so it won't be completely alone. We also have a 1 year old and a 5 yr old. I am not looking for a Lab or Golden Retriever.
I'm not looking for a Husky either. We just lost ours to a car accident a few weeks ago.

I recommend a Toller, they're very active because they're retrievers, highly trainable, and has traits of your typical lab. They're medium-sized so they're safe around your youngest(I'm not saying they should be left alone with him/her) but most likely won't knock him/her over ha.
EDIT: But, they're pretty rare to find in the US! And if you do, be prepared to pay about $1200+!

I recommend a husky, German shepherd, or Great Pyrenees. They are great and loyal dogs.
