Should i continue my hiring process for correctional officer, or wait for my police test results?
2 fridays ago i took a written test to be a correctional officer. I was supposed to get the results back in 3 weeks. Last thursday i took a test for the police dept. Haven't got the results back yet. The correctional job emailed me and set an interview date so i assume i passed. The problem is i want the police job more. So should i continue with the process for correctional officer or wait and go ahead with both then choose which career in the end of both processes? I feel like. I'm stringing them along by doing so. Thanks

In California correctional officers get paid more than most entry-level positions in police work, but both jobs are world apart and important only you can decide which one is for you, i would choose corrections

In my county correctional officer are the highest paid state employee topping off around 215K a year including overtime but as pointed out totally different work experience
that said I think what ever you choose, its a smart move, I know people who went into public sector job and by the age 50 where able to cash out with full benefits and nice pension based upon the 90% of pay in the last three years of work and live very well
