Are your passions not something "out there" to be found, but actually within you, in your experience of life?

If you like, please refer to the following web page, which is what triggered this question for me: http://www.free-range-humans.com/out-of-the-box/fp...

It also reminded me of this saying from The Gospel of Thomas: "If you bring forth what is within you, what you have will save you. If you do not have that within you, what you do not have within you [will] kill you."

What is this referring to, that if brought forth from within you will save you? Is it the experience of "feeling alive" and buzzed about life, that's always there and able to be retrieved?

I disagree. I have found over the few years I've been alive that the most magical moments come when you learn new things. Not things that people expect you to learn. I was always this sort of 'macho' guy growing up but I have gotten in to sewing recently and have found a new passion for myself. I realize that I don't have to buy the same uncomfortable cloths each year. I can customize and design a fit that is just right for me. That way when I sit down my new pants my man parts won't be screaming out for dear life.

Everything can be satisfied with just a little peace of mind. But how does one obtain a peaceful mind with so many passions going about within it? Damaged and contaminated and poisoned, living in an environment long past its cleaning due date, satisfaction of our passions is something we will always be hungering for. Learning to live with it is satisfaction enough for some of us.

I have seldom felt my own love, hate, ambition and fear "out there".

I once had an out of body experience, which was really out there. Otherwise why would my emotions be an external thing?

In spite of my best efforts, I could not locate it in the external world nor do I have any insight about something. In fact, philosophically speaking, I had no such experience.

I would say something within, waiting to be discovered.
