Hey i'm a philippine atheist, pls no racial, for i have something to share with you people for reason, what do you think?
I have been enlightened and inspired by Richard Dawkins for he fights for reason, and science.
Now,frankly i'm still a highschool student, who is passionate about science, but by my thorough analysis of the people around me,it looks as though that 90 percent or so,don't regard evolution as a fact.Infact i debated once a teacher who teaches values education,to outspoken it,he was talking to the class,he yelled loudly, did we came from apes,my classmates said "No" in an appalling manner,i was at the corner,i raised up my hands,"i said modern apes are our cousins,we and the apes have descended from a common ancestry, there are evidence for this that there are many intermediate fossils that are found in the museums"
My teacher said,"no,i don't believe that".
After a moment he added, that the solar system is guided by the Lord's hand (which i know by the way gravity is the reason for),he then proceeded that i'm alive because of God,
I spoke to him that chemical reactions that obey physical laws are responsible why i'm alive, for ex.food (carbohydrates to ATP which supplies energy cascading chain reaction to make me move and alive.
he said he doesn't believe that,he draw at the board about which our souls are,he told me that the soul is inside the body and makes pain reactions.I told him that neural impulses being received by the brain is responsible for this.he told me again that it's not true.
Then my classmates told me as an anti-christ then they dared me to debate them, but i refused

That's not really a question, so much as a rant, is it? Still, I hope you feel better for having gotten it off your chest.
As for what I think, I'm just very sad for you that you have such little chance, with a formal education like that. Even if your teacher is the most faithful person in the world, he should still have the professional discipline to teach you what's on the syllabus (which I'm quite sure isn't just a page full of the word "GOD" written hundreds of times). If he must rationalise it within his religious framework, then he could say to himself that the soul resides within the body and motivates action, but the specifics of how it does so involve ATP and chemistry. Science throughout the ages has been intertwined with religion, a process of finding out how God designed the world. It's only recently that it's been thought of as completely opposed to religion. I think if you get into a heated discussion with your teacher again, perhaps you'd stand a better chance of success couching what you're saying in terms of "god did it like this". I know it's not what you nor I believe, but the compromise is more likely to be listened to.
Whatever happens, good luck furthering your education, it sounds like against the odds you've made a great start :3

We are supposed to give a child who thinks he now knows everything credibility now... You use the example of this one teacher as a straw-man argument... You have no clue as to how one properly evaluates evidence and claims.
So you like Dawkins and science. Yet his brand of science declares that live arose from inanimate matter in a primordial soup not unlike the story of Frankenstein. Okay smart guy, then explain how, through evolution, living creatures figured out sexual reproduction. The evolutionary model is dependent upon cellular division in order to recreate. And most important of all, answer this: Which came first? The cellular structure necessary for housing the DNA that provides the instructions for creating and maintaining a cellular structure, or the DNA?

It's ridiculous that this is still asked. Evolution is proven, there's no alternative theory, and it doesn't disprove creation, only the creation myth in the bible, that we were made from dirt in a day.

Theists don't believe in evolution, they believe in creation. 90% of them. Its best to keep your opinion to yourself and not antagonize others needlessly.
