International Tang Soo Do Federation

The International Tang Soo Do Federation was founded by Grand Master Chun Sik Kim. The ITF has a board of technical advisory committee members. The members consist of Vice President Joe Goss, Sr (9th Dan), General Secretary Joe Bruno (8th Dan), various school owners between (4th and 7th Dan). The Pittsburgh members of the advisory board meet with Master Kim on almost a weekly basis to discuss techniques and changes. You can contact the headquarters at 412-373-8666.

Authentic Tang Soo Do is taught with the emphasis of keeping tradition, and is not a sport-style martial art. It is a form of Karate, although the names are used interchangeably.

Master Kim has had a long history of teaching both military and private groups in addition to winning tournaments. His instructor was GM Song Ki Kim in Korea.

There is an annual tournament each year in May, a fundraiser in November, and a world tournament every two years.

Tang Soo Do is awesome, traditional as hell, ya can learn how to be a leader or spear hand someone in the throat. It's open to many different ways of combat, with pure traditional values and the art itself is just beautiful. My instructor had to break a guys arm once in a bar fight, but took him to the hospital even paid for it.

That doesn't work in the state penn.
