Why is metroprolol prescribed if?

I don't have a RHR higher than 70? I do have normal blood pressure to low blood pressure. Was given for Vasovagal presyncope. My heart rate will jump from time to time

    metropolol is not prescribed to lower your blood pressure or heart rate. Considering your HR and BP are normal, you were likely given the metropolol to reduce the oxygen demand of your heart, possibly because you have narrowed coronary arteries.

    Metoprolol by itself is usually a rate control agent. Probably prescribed because of your "heart rate will jump from time to time." You can always ask you doctor why you're being prescribed medications ... it is a good idea to know why you're taking the medications you're taking.
