Why do Muslim women wear hijabs?

Muslim women wear hijabs because they believe that by covering themselves men will not be tempted into having sex with them. But even with the wearing of hijabs, men continue to lust because lust starts with thoughts in the mind then lead to the heart then leads to the action.

Then you have the opposite with other women. They dress nearly naked and personally, I think a woman should leave something to the imagination.

It is the belief in traditional Islam that women are holier then men and that their face and hair reflect Allah's glory. Therefore, out of respect to Allah, they keep their face and hair covered. Most women are not Forced into the hijab, they wear it with pride.

I'm Pagan and I don't wear any head coverings unless it's cold out then I would wear a hat, hoodie or if it's on my wedding day I'd prefer a black veil with my dress..

There is no good reason for forced head coverings, that I agree with.

It's a way weak Muslim men try to control Muslim women ...

I'm Taoist . People are free to wear what they want .

It's simply customary of their religion. From a young age they are taught to be devout and follow all religious rules, or hence disgrace their religion. For many, to lose their hijab would be to denounce their religion.

Head scarfs are part of Christianity too though christains don't wear it
