I need a help from a Vet. :))?

So I just got a new dog, I adopted it . And he's 2months old. Later this night we played along , I played with him with his homemade toy, and he likes to bite it. Then this time comes when his tooth/teeth touched my hand. (The back bone of my index finger , part of my fist.) I was worried that I may catch a rabies from him, but the tooth/teeth didn't leave any mark /it didn't bleed. I just felt his tooth on my fist. I was just wondering if I have to worry about this, or it's okay?? Thank you! :))

dogs only have rabies if they have been EXPOSED to rabies.. such as a bite from an infected animal.

They are not born with rabies.

And no, you cannot get rabies that way.

Rabies is carried in the saliva, and in brain fluids/tissues. My understanding is that it is only in the saliva during the final stages.. at that point the animal would be showing symptoms.

The fluid or tissues has to make contact with blood.. such as thru a bite or open wound, or thru mucous membranes.

If your dog is acting normal, and has not been exposed to potentially infected wildlife, I'd have no reason to suspect that your dog has rabies.

If you live in an area where rabies is prevalant, I highly suggest you do some research on it, so you get a better understanding of the disease.

You don't need a vet to tell you what basic common sense should...puppies are not born with rabies so get over your silly phobia and move on. You're not going to get sick.

Its very unlikely your pup would have rabies right now, and you would only need to be seriously concerned about getting it if he broke the skin. Take him to the vet when you can, and ask about what age he should be getting his rabies shot (or google it)

im a certified assistant animal technician

you can only get rabies if you are bitten by an animal showing symptoms

in most cases the bite has to break the skin

puppies cannot be born with rabies

if he is acting normal you are fine

didnt he have his first shot before you adopted him

if not please get him a rabies shot if he is 4 months or older

then you will not have to worry when playing with him

    good luck

GO GET VACCINATED NOW LOL HAHA. just kidding, but you can only get rabies if the DOG HAS RABIES. But in all serious business, watch what you ask. If you raise suspicion your dog has rabies, your dog legally has to get checked if they BIT ANYONE. There is only one way to check, by decapitation. That's right, be headed. So be careful with these questions.

You won't find a true vet here - most wouldn't have the time, and can't diagnose or treat without seeing your dog at some point.

You need help from a psychiatrist. A 17-year-old should not be getting a disease phobia from playing with a puppy.

You can't catch rabies off an animal that doesn't have it. All puppies bite so get used to it

No, the bone/tooth/claw has to go inside you. Just wash that dog slobber off u and you'll be fine. Seriously though, it's like hand sanitizer, it covers your hand. It doesn't clean it much though...

You don't have rabies. What's going on with this rabies phobia...seriously.
