Anything in the banking, financial industry. Anything in accounting, finance, auditing. Anything where you handle money - often even for retail store clerks, the store may check credit ratings to see how you handle money. These days more & more companies are concerned about embezzlement, theft by employees. Expect - & be prepared for - drug tests, criminal records checks, and credit checks for practically any job at all. Background checks often include credit report records. Not necessary to do a separate credit check in many cases.

Many jobs requiring the handling of large sums of money (bank teller, cashier at a high-end retailer, courier, etc.) will include credit checks. In addition, may large corporations will also require them for professional level positions.
