Working as a dental assistant in South America?
I want to teach in Mexico, but we're expecting our 2nd child soon. I figure wait a few years and then go, living just on this side of the border and commuting to work. But say I can get a better paying job in, say, Peru. Hubs is a dental assistant, and he could pretty easily get his DANB certification transferred to another state, but another country?
Hit submit too soon...
Anywho, what is the process he would have to go through to transfer his DA license?
And what are the conditions like in the different countries? Would they expect him to speak Spanish (he doesn't currently)? Is the danger of contracting a disease higher, or about the same, considering some patients here don't mention anything until after the procedure (he's told me a few stories, without breaking HIPAA law so don't worry if it was you)?

You should contact DANB or the DALE foundation and ask them, or the organization that oversees the affairs of dental assistants in the place you plan on potentially moving to.
