if i found my missing dog, will she be able to recognize me?

i lost my 1 year old japanese spitz dog on 1st july, and some spiritual person told me that my dog is in safe hands, and she is having a good time there, people love her alot....and i am going to find her not now but after some time..

    She'll remember you, even if it's years before you see her.

    I was reminded once again this past weekend how much we dog owners don’t know about missing pets. That’s not a judgement in any way, just an observation. So few of us really know or understand what happens to a pet when they become lost.

    Most dogs live for the moment, and deal with most things that life throws at them. She may well recognise you at some level, but will probably acknowledge you and go back to her life as it is now. If you can take the word of a spiritualist and IF she is now settled in a loving home, you have a hard decision to make about whether you reclaim her, or not. For me, this should be all about what's best for the dog and she may be best staying where she is now.

    Possibly but it wouldn't have gone missing had you been constantly supervising and kept it securely contained. Lesson learned.
