Small cities outside Portland OR? Cheap nice hotels?

im going to portland for a trip soon and wanted to find a cheap hotel, i was hoping maybe a town 15-25 min away would have cheaper prices please help :)

    Look for motels in the outer suburbs:

    * east: Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview

    * south: Tigard, Tualatin, Wilsonville

    * west: Beaverton, Hillsboro, North Plains

    * northwest: Linton (neighborhood), Scappoose

    * north: Vancouver, Hazel Dell, Ridgefield

    None of these will be "cheap", but they should be 50 to 75% of the price of more central Portland motels.

    the cheapest motel around is the "your host motel" on Mcloughlin blvd in Milwaukie.

    starting at like 35 bucks a night
