Broken electricity meter?

My last bill was 32 dollars. So I checked the meter and it s not moving. Is there any way they will charge me for usage when it was and still is broken. They can t prove how much I m using.

    Recheck the meter in a day and see if any chnge on the reading. If the electric company thinks there is no use in a month they will check it themselves and probably bill you for the amount of electricity you sed a year ago. Those meters dont break down often.

    In the UK the electricity supplier will take an average of your previous usage and base their charges on that for an estimate of electricity used while the meter is faulty. It is in your best interest to have the meter repaired / replaced.

    I am assuming your bill is normally significantly more than $32. If it is abnormally low for long enough, the power company will send someone to inspect the meter. You will then be billed based on your historical usage. The court HAVE upheld this billing method.

    Of course they will charge you. The will estimate the amount you have used using data from the past year.

    When discovered they will average prior use and charge accordingly .....Notify the power company,.
