Do all airline pilots get interviewed?

Hi, I was just wondering if all airline pilots get interviewed when they apply at an airline? Another bush pilot I know Graeme, said he got accepted by Qatar Airways and would start he's training but never mentioned being in an interview. I'm 15 and hoping to work for Etihad Airways one day, but I'd like to know if all airline pilot do get interviewed, or if the airline decides who gets the job or gets interviewed?

Getting a job as an airline pilot is no different than getting a job anywhere else. You don't just fill out an application and go to work. EVERYONE gets interviewed somewhere along the line as part of the hiring process.

The fact that someone doesn't mention an interview doesn't mean there wasn't one. At the very least, they'd want to get some sense of your flying skills. You don't imagine that you apply online or something and that an airline would say, "Oh, sure, come fly for us!" without checking you out in any way.

Of course the airline decides who gets called for an interview and a skills and training check, and then, on the basis of all that, the airline decides who gets hired. Who else would do that?

The airline pilot selection process consists generally of the following:

    1. Interview - presenting the original of your credentials, licences, log book -

    2. Simple quiz of aviation or technical airplane related questions -

    3. Short simulator pilot aptitude assessment (takeoff, inflight maneuvers and landing) -

    4. Medical examination and drug testing -

Potential employer will contact your previous employer(s) a few days later -

Probably not just once, but several times, by possibly several different groups of people.

What we want is the best of the many applicants for each job, so the "weeding out" process is fairly thorough.

The better the reputation of the airline, the more thorough the weeding out will be
