Still not feeling normal since panic attack?

Hello, I'm 17 years old. 4 days ago I had my first panic attack, since then I have not been myself. My anxiety has been slowly calming down each day, but now yesterday and today I had a strange feeling in my chest. Almost as if it was being tightened, today was worse. I also had upper back pains, mainly when laid down.

Is this normal? For it to continue without much anxiety?

Since you have never had a panic attack before, consider seeing your general physician to talk about your symptoms, helpful medications, etc. There are medications that help you to get through occasional anxiety attacks but they may or may not be right for you. Anxiety can be difficult but try to think if something big is going on in your life right now. If that's the case, the anxiety is likely to improve once that event has passed. Anxiety can take awhile to calm down, especially if you are feeling stressed. You are probably feeling muscle spasms in your chest and back. You mentioned tightness in your chest, meaning that the muscles in the chest and back area are tightening up. This can be due to stress and anxiety, as well as the heavy breathing that can occur during a panic attack. You may have slightly injured yourself based on the info you provided. Your muscles may start to feel tired before they begin to heal, making it a little harder to breathe. Muscle injuries can be stubborn.

Anxiety attacks can be strange and you can even have them when you don't believe that you are stressed. I suggest seeing your regular doctor to talk about your symptoms and what can be done in the future.

Different people have different timespans to recover from panic attacks. If you want to hurry along the process to feeling better, go online and find free sites to learn basic meditation for relaxation.
