Does DDR3 or GDDR5 matter for a gaming laptop? (Read Details)?

If I remember correctly, the amount of RAM you have in a graphics card determines the size of a display you can use. So if the laptop's screen is 1080p HD, would it make much of a difference to have 2 GB of GDDR5 vs 2 GB of DDR3?

    GDDR5 is based on DDR3, but has roughly double the bandwidth of DDR3 at a slight cost to latency.

    on a laptop I doubt you would notice the difference as the bottlenecks are all over
