Looked at a recipe for chili, and listed bourbon. What is a good bourbon for cooking?

Update:

So saw a recipe for chili and sounded really good. One of the ingredients listed was bourbon, 3 table spoons. I usually drink beer, so I don't know much about bourbon. I figure something good for cooking mainly, since I don't drink hard alcohol.

For cooking purposes I would look for Old Grand-dad or Old Forrester. Both are fine for drinking or cooking and less expensive then Jim Beam or some of the more expensive bourbons. Check to see if your liquor store has the bourbon in pint bottles, since you really do not need a lot of bourbon. If you make spare ribs, add some bourbon if you marinate them or if you cook them in foil in the oven, add some bourbon to the ribs before wrapping them in the foil.
