If you mean the political situation, then really its the British Empire's fault, if we'd put down the 1920 uprising, and enforced the British Mandate for Mesopotamia; Iraq would still be a British Protectorate. As usual, we were too kind on the local population, we should have used more violence and persecution until they were grateful of our civilising influence. If we'd done the same thing in 1776, then there wouldn't have been a United States of America to lead the war-mongering and Islamic persecution.
