wasn't it rude of my friend's mom to say this about me?

(Her mom is also friends with my mom)

So me and my mom were over their house. We were planning swimming and I said I'd be on my period. My mom said I can't swim because I'll get an infection or something. I was explaining to her how that's just a myth and you can't actually get an infection if you swim on your period, says my health teacher and articles online.

This is how my friend's mom replied(she was saying this to my mom): "You know, if your daughter was swimming while on her period, I wouldn't let my kids swim around her."

I replied that my flow will stop anyways and since I'll be wearing pads when I get out my blood won't drip anywhere.

1) She's speaking without knowledge. My blood isn't gonna go everywhere while I'm swimming.

2) She's treating my period as something so gross or whatever, when urine and boys' SWEAT contains more germs. Plus there's chlorine in the water. Maybe I should stop swimming around her teenage son. Maybe she should also not let her kids swim around babies or teenage boys/men.

3) That was rude to begin with it. Just because I'm on my period she doesn't have to treat me like I'm some piece of **** in the pool that she doesn't want her kids getting next to.

  • 1 you can get an infection doesn't matter if on period or not, I've been told that when your on your period you can catch infections easier as something inside opens up in order for the blood to come out idk...but yea u can get an infection.

    2. Yes your blood can go everywhere whilst you swimming. If you are on your period and your eager to swim don't just use a pad. Use a tampon..there's so many varieties small or big, find the right ones for yourself. Pads will soak up all te water and it will be disgusting ones you get out as it will be really heavy and you will be probably able to see it and it might start dripping.

3 yess she is a disrespectful person for saying that especially that as a female she goes through period so embarrassing you like this was not on point.

Horrible lady u shud slap her. Haha your mum would ground u but who cares?

1 you could get an infection, infections aren't a myth they could happen to anyone who gets into a pool with or without a period

2 if your going swimming you should wear a tampon cause it's just gross if you don't when you get out their will be blood coming down your swimsuit I know it stops in water but it's still gross

3 your on your period you get pissed over stupid **** just get over it next time don't tell people your on your period and then you won't have to deal with being you can't swim

Your mom's friend sounds ignorant...I hate mom's like that, self righteous about things they have absolutely no knowledge on. Rude too...like good, I didn't 't wanna swim around your nasty *** kids anyway.
