doesn't the hymen break?
So my culture is strict on this stuff .. like when a man marries a woman, if her hymen is broken then he won't have proof whether she had done pre-marital things or not .. he might divorce her. Sad, but what can I do about it.
So anyways, I heard that the guy would insert his into hers. If blood came (the first time of having sex) then that meant she never broke her hymen before. If not, then the man would become suspicious that she had pre-marital sex.
I know this is not fair since some women break their hymens through injuries and they didn't necessarily have sex to break it, that's if it even breaks.
but my question is, does the hymen even break? Some people say that the hymen starts wearing down as a person gets older, or that some people are born without it etc.
So when you have sex the first time, does something (like the hymen) break?
Thanks

The hymen is a huge myth that dates back hundreds of years. Culture, Porn, and hollywood protect the myth. I can named any number of medical TV shows that believe the hymen makes pregnancy completely impossible.
It exists, but has essentially no function. Most women have an opening in it that is large enough for a penis to fit through, but in doing so it may sustain some damage that wears it down faster. Sometimes it is sturdy enough that a person can have sex frequently and the hymen will more or less stay intact. Other times it will be gone long before a person ever has sex for the first time.
About the blood: The hymen has very very little. You can produce a few spots and that is it. The more common source for blood is small tears in the vaginal wall. The vaginal wall is muscle and is well supplied with blood. Any woman can have bleeding freely if they tense the walls, but accident or on purpose, and have rougher sex. Considering that most women don't have very good control of those particular muscles it would be a common misconception that there is a barrier 2 cm inside the vaginal tunnel, when it is really just the tensed muscles holding the vaginal tunnel shut that a man is hitting.
So in theory an experienced woman could "bleed like a virgin" every time she has sex if she holds the muscle just right and has a man ram it in to pretend to "break the barrier". It would be painful for girl and guy, but technically possible.
