How can I read kindle books on an nook tablet?

I used to have an android tablet where I read my kindle books, but unfortunately it stopped working. As a result I was given as a gift a new nook tablet. I downloaded the kindle appbon it, but I cannot read all my purchased kindle books on it. I looked it upbonline and I found that this is due to kindle books using a different software that cannot be downloaded to nook. Can anyone help me accces my kindle books somehow? Thanks

If you truly mean Nook tablet, not Nook ereader...

If you have one of the fairly recent Nook tablets made by Samsung (the Nook tablets that come with Google Play), assuming you have registered Google Play to a Google/gmail account of yours, all you need to do is go to Google Play and download/install the free Kindle Reader app to your Samsung Nook tablet. Then register the Kindle app to your Amazon account. If your Amazon acct has a valid credit or debit card, you can now buy Kindle ebooks, first choosing your Kindle reader app as the destination, and the ebook will be delivered to your Kindle app. If you already bought the ebook, use the manage Your Content & Devices page at Amazon to re-Deliver the ebook.

If you meant you have a Nook ereader (black & white screen) or if you have an old Nook tablet without Google Play, then you cannot install a Kindle app and cannot reader Kindle ebooks.

Note - Almost all commercial ebooks are DRM protected to prevent stealing and sharing. A DRM-protected ebook can only be read on a hard or software reader from the same company that sold the ebook, and only when that reader is registered to the account that purchased the ebook.

Nook uses .epub, .pdf, .txt, and .htm formats (if I recall what I've sideloaded lately to my Nook Simple Touch & Nook HD+ - same formats worked with the Nook Color that I passed along to my grandson last year.

DD has a Kindle - it uses .mobi, .prc, and the Kindle version of those two formats - which they call .azw - but it will also open the other two formats (sideloaded some books from the Free Baen Library).

If you're using a newer Nook tablet (color screen instead of grayscale), then you might be able to download & install the Nook app - or get a micro SD card from one of the companies that sells them with various Android versions on them to root your Nook into an Android tablet & install the Nook and the Kindle apps on it and read all your books on one device.

Source(s): Rooted Nook HD+ that lets me read Nook, Kindle, and Kobo books as well as library books using the OverDrive app.
