If you saw someone eating lunch alone, would you invite them to eat with you?

I would, because I know that if I was eating alone I would LOVE it if I could eat with someone else!

My spouse traveled a lot and I often ate out alone. I didn't mind it and would have been uncomfortable if someone just wanted to come eat with me because I was alone. I enjoy my own company.

No, but that's because I have so much trouble talking to strangers. I want to ask, but I can't. That's also why I usually eat alone.

Yeah of course, I'd feel kind of sad for them. Unless of course they looked busy or genuinely looked as if they wanted to eat alone.

Just because they are alone, doesn't mean they are lonely. Many people use that time to think our get away from the pressures of having others around. You can ask, but do not be offended if they refuse.

Probably not, cause if I'm alone that means I don't want to be bothered by people. I have a wife and two teen kids. Sometimes its ok to be alone.

Personally I like eating alone. I usually read and don't like company.

I wouldn't join them. I like eating my lunch by myself, and I hate it when others sit at my table because it just feels weird and awkward having somebody you don't know at the same table as you.
