It depends on whether you are a beginning reptile owner, which I am assuming you are. Leopard geckos and bearded dragons are considered the best beginner reptiles for a reason. I have two and they are incredibly sweet and bonded with me quickly. Blue tongued skinks are not the most difficult lizards to care for by any means, but they are more difficult than geckos. First of all, they eat proteins and produce, while geckos only eat mealworms. They are much bigger, need a lot more space and they live 5-10 years longer on average. I would definitely recommend a leopard gecko.
