Frozen foods don't become dangerous in the freezer. Bacteria can't grow in the freezer.

The moisture in food can slowly escape. It goes directly from frozen water (ice) to water vapor through a process called sublimation. Have you ever opened a bag of frozen food that had ice on the inside? That is water that used to be in the food.

This drying out isn't dangerous, but it makes the food less tasty, which is why even frozen foods need expiration dates.

You'll be fine. Your anxiety might make you feel nauseated, but the cake won't hurt you.

It's frozen, so it's fine. If sealed properly like put in a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn, a lot of foods will keep for a very long time. For example, bread freezes very well, and I've eaten hamburger buns that were 2 years old, but were frozen. To thaw, just put them in a Ziploc bag and let them sit on the counter for about half an hour to an hour... good as new! (Just put them in a freezer bag though. The bag they come in isn't good enough and you will get freezer burn.)
