1985 Toyota Pickup engine?
I have an 85 toyota pickup that I need an engine for...it is 4x4 and carburated. I would like a rebuilt engine and need to keep the cost under $1200 with shipping. Anyone that can help let me know.

Rebuilt engines run about $1200-1400 just themselves, and that requires your engine as a core exchange, otherwise if you dont give them your block, add another $300 or so.
Shipping cost will be hefty, about $300 more.
Best bet is to check pricing to have yours rebuilt locally, if you pull it and install yourself, you would be paying about $1200 and nothing more. But I always suggest having install a new carb, new distributor, new spark plugs, new water pump, new alternator, new starter, resurface flywheel, new clutch set, and flush out gas tank, lines, and new fuel filter.
If your rebuilding the engine, all these other parts will be dirty and used looking, might as well start at square 1.
If you wanted to keep your cost down, find a used running engine with low mileage (good luck), cause even a 22R with 150,000 is considered low mileage to us enthusiast, when they hit 280k miles we then consider a rebuild soon.

Junk yard would be your best option.
Heck for that much you could probably buy a used Toyota truck, pull the motor and scrap the rest or part it out.
