Republicans, can you guess which President born in 1911 stated the following in 1983?

"We're going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that have allowed some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying 10 percent of his salary, and that's crazy. It's time we stopped it."

    You do realize that part of the deal to reduce overall tax rates included a sop to the Democrat House to close loopholes. The point of lower rates and closing of loopholes is to get a more uniform revenue stream from those tax brackets (and a higher one, thanks to the lower top marginal rates, btw).

    I would add that we should not forget that Democrats also voted for those loopholes in the first place.

    So, if you're done with your infantile liberal "gotcha" idiocy, do you have anything intelligent to say?
