What causes rumble on the low?

I am getting a kind of rumble sound (not a click) from the lowest 30t gear on a 8-speed cassette. It only happens when I am in the smallest chainring, and the other gears are quiet. It goes from a 26t to a 30. Its not a derailleur out of alignment sound. Cassette is new.

Sounds like a b-screw tension adjustment issue. Your upper jockey wheel is probably too close to the cassette when in the large cogs

could also be that the 30 tooth cog is too big for the derailleur

    they have limits

if you just started wtih the 30T then that is probably the rumble ca use

Did you replace the chain as well...or just the cassette? A new cassette with an old chain is a waste of time & $$$.
