You can be fired from any new job or (not be hired) if the new employer finds out that you left two years of work off your resume. They also may ask you what you have been doing during this time. If you put it on your resume and they check, your former employer may still tell them negative things even though it is against the law, you never know what they will say especially if they are poorly managed. You have worked so long, you might as well stay for two weeks more. Backdate your letter to last Friday and that will shorten the time. (I doubt they will say anything). If you already have a new job lined up and they need you right away then forget the notice if you have to. Most employers only check the last employer and if you quit in a hurry to take a new job, no one is really going to care.

i have this bad, part-time job, where i get minimum wage and 24 hours a week, i'm only 19. i just aced an interview, and got a waaaay better job starting at 16$ an hour! and i worked my a$% off for he 9$ an hour, sometimes people called in or they didnt schedule any help for me on a 2 man job! and expect me to bust more *** than i have to get everything done, or just stay there all night... they already work me untill midnight every night... its a horrible job, and i do an excellent job, but they still treat me like sh%t! my manager told me i'm over worked and under paid, and then laughed in my face... and i just kind of stared at him and i wasn't laughing like he was, because frankly i didn't think it was funny at all. i work HARD AT THAT JOB! HE DOESN'T KNOW HALF THE CR@P I DO FOR THAT COMPANY! and he said after that, if you think you're underpaid go find a different job, we have an open door policy here, while laughing. but i put up with it for 2 years! i got promoted there really fast because i outworked all of my peers. the only thing is... my work load increased 5 fold, but my pay didnt raise at all! still make minimum! it's just a horrid job. i was a good employee, can i still use the job on my resume because it was my first job, its 2 years of good work exp. the only thing is they said there's an open door policy. i'm assuming that means i can leave whenever i want? without notice. there's nothing bad they can say about my performance working i live in California, and technically, isn't it illegal for him to give any negative information to a future possible employer? cant you sue someone over that? there's nothing he can say about how i worked, the only thing is i'm not giving him a 2 week notice, i'm just never gonna show up again... he cant disclose that to a future employer can he?

You can but it's not going to help you any. Quitting without giving notice makes you look bad to other employers.

If they won't give you a reference then don't put them on your résumé. You should always give notice.
