Who should I specifically see for anxiety/panic attacks? Counselor? Psychologist?
Hi all. Over the last 2 years, I have been experiencing, what I believe to be, are anxiety attacks. They come out of no where. They come in spats. They come a few times a month, and then go away and the cycle starts all over. I first began experiencing them 2 years ago when I had a really bad cold and needed to take an antibiotic. When I took it, I freaked myself out and thought I was dying. Ever since then, I ve been scared to take any kind of medication and that is also when the attacks started. I just wanted to know, who would I go see? A counselor? Physiologist? Not really sure of the difference. Please help.

I just turn any awkward feeling into agression or just laugh about it, and i'm not sure if i've had a panic attack before i kno one time i woke up at night and felt like i was nothing, that i didn't exist and it took me about an hour to calm and get back to reality so idk if that was a night terror or panic attack, but i havn't had one of those since i was 11. All i kno is u have to have dignity and respect for urself first and others will respect u and u'll be able to walk around with confidence.

Please consider scheduling an appointment with either a clinical psychologist (PhD or PsyD) or a licensed-clinical social worker (LCSW). Either kind of therapist may administer cognitive-behavioral therapy (cbt) for those with mental health issues, and cbt may be especially helpful for those with anxiety disorder and issues related to it. (Will add more in a bit)
